Job Description
Join the Cerner ITWorks team onsite at Rutland Regional Medical Center working in partnership on the continuous improvement of healthcare for Rutland and surrounding communities. As a System Engineer II, you will provide system implementation, support, monitoring, and maintenance of Cerner's solutions and services onsite at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability and perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware/OS upgrades, and resource optimization. Your role also includes implementing monitoring for applications and servers, and respond to alarms in a timely manner, preventing client impact and performance degradation. Also, deploy physical and virtual servers, complete assigned incident management tasks, and deploy, setup, and maintain testing environments. You will also provide tier III support per service request. Working Environment Hybrid or Remote This position offers a Hybrid or Remote working environment. Meaning if you live within a metro area of a Cerner office, you will split working time between a Cerner office and remote. If you are not within a metro area of a Cerner office, you can live and work in your current geographical location and work primarily remote. #LI-Hybrid #RemoteQualifications Basic Qualifications- At least 6 years total combined higher education and related work experience including:
- At least 1 year of system administration and/or system engineering work experience
- At least 5 years higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job including:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field; or equivalent relevant work experience
- At least 1 year of experience as a system engineer
- At least 1 year of experience in healthcare IT setting
- Must live in or around the Rutland, Vermont area
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
- Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of the position
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
