Please note that this is a 12 months contract position.Two positions available, One for a Packager and Another for Assembler. The Packager will perform all assigned duties with minimal supervision. The manager is willing to consider entry level candidates with some shipping/ receiving experience. Part time work can also be considered. This job requires self-motivation, and teamwork with co-workers in the main stockroom, the machine shop, and assembly areas. The job role also means providing some work direction when needed and an ability to report, diagnose, and correct problems. This individual is expected to learn current warehouse operations, methods, equipment, and facilities and to recommend and assist the implementation of projects.Duties And Responsibilities:Shipping: Prepare and package the staged material according to standard practices or special instructions. Prepare all documentation required to transfer the parcels to the carrier. Perform accurate transactions, correct problems, or errors. Distribute and maintain documents.Receiving: Review incoming parcels; perform unpacking and packing list verification activities. Process receiving activities and documents per procedures and documents. Distribute documents appropriately and maintain document files. Process transactions of material or services per procedures and practices. Process claims against carriers for damaged (incoming and outgoing) freight. Distribute received materials to the proper destination and ensure paperwork is completed. Report and correct problem receipts.Stockroom: Transact, transfer, and deliver the material with documentation. Pick and stage material. Perform accurate transactions. Perform material cycle count and inventory activities. Initiate and perform diagnostic and analytical work to tackle problems. Perform any other routine duties and special projects that may be assigned by the Supervisor.QualificationsHigh School degree or equivalent with strong reading, and math skills.2+ years relevant experience preferredCapable of lifting 30 lbs. 5 feet vertically without assistance.Previous training in total warehouse and logistics methods, equipment, and facilities desired.Previous experience in working with warehouse computer systems or PC applications desired. The Assembler is expected to complete all work with a high level of workmanship and quality and maintain a neat and orderly work area. The manager is willing to consider entry level candidates with some mechanical experience. Part time work can also be considered. They will perform all activities in a safe manner and utilize personal protective equipment as needed. Must be a dedicated team member with good communication skills and flexibility in accomplishing tasks. Responsible for maintaining timely accurate records and logs. Manufacturing management expects that Assemblers recommend improvements and consistently strive for efficient and effective methodologies. Assemblers must demonstrate an effective workmanship style that includes listening and soliciting input from others. All personnel must maintain a professional outlook and manner while at work. Responsibilities:Perform assembly and inspection processes.Collect and report data in compliance with Quality and ISO standards.Maintain shop supplies and floor stock.Maintain/replenish tools and equipment used in production processes.Frequently lift and move units up to 40 lbs in weight to 5-foot high levels.Perform product tests,Perform material transactions,Learn and support new product introductions,Support activities within the work cell and assembly area with positive and effective results.Understand and implement Lean Manufacturing.Train new employees in all aspects of the manufacturing process and job requirements.Inspect build quality and test data prior to finished goods leaving the work area. QualificationsHigh School graduate or equivalent. High school-level math skills are a plus.Previous experience in electromechanical assembly/test/inspection.Ability to read written instructions and follow requirements.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Dependability and availability for a variety of tasks and activities. Desired Qualifications:Associates (AA) degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education & experience.Proven computer applications knowledge in Windows, XL, and Word.Ability to read and comprehend mechanical / assembly drawings.Demonstrated applicable technical & troubleshooting capabilityLean Manufacturing implementation experience.Applicants must provide their phone number.
