Overview This position supervises and participates in the day-to-day acquisition, engineering, operations and maintenance of all endpoint systems. The incumbent manages, coordinates, and maintains the life cycle support of endpoint systems, management servers, and network based platforms, while ensuring compliance with numerous security requirements across multiple platforms with varying security configurations.

Responsibilities 1. Plans, coordinates and directs the operational activities of the Computer Operations team. Assigns and reviews the work of team members, estimates personnel needs and schedule, and reviews work progress. Ensures daily operations scheduling and work assignments are maintained, to include the coordination and prioritization of project manager and project leader initiatives. Mentors the staff on IT tools, techniques and technologies. 2. Engineers, administers and manages the life cycle support of endpoint systems, servers and network based platforms. Integrates and implements new baseline applications and network services while ensuring compatibility with existing systems and operational objectives. Ensures all systems are well-documented and meet all security requirements and standards. 3. Designs, engineers, and leads efforts to implement customized solutions, hardware and software, for endpoint systems and desktop services supporting IDA requirements. 4. Manages the Device Request System, Bulk Software Program, Thin Client end of life applications and the virtual server lab environment supporting networked systems. 5. Identifies operational concerns and recommends solutions to improve systems operations. Continually assesses the current viability and sustainability of installed systems against organizational objectives. Performs analyses as required to report findings to EITO management. Monitors all Change Management requests that affect IT operations and plays a role in the overall functional strategic planning. 6. Serves as an internal consultant to provide technical advice and guidance to project leaders and team members concerning daily operations and functions of all endpoint systems. 7. Keeps current on new technology, industry developments, and the tools used by EITO through formal training or independent study. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field coupled with eight years minimum experience in Information Technology, which includes at least six years of supervisory, technical leadership or project management experience OR high school diploma with twelve years minimum experience in Information Technology, which includes at least six years of supervisory, technical leadership or project management experience.
  • Extensive experience in the implementation and integration of IT computer systems.
  • Extensive experience with the Windows operating systems and supporting multiple platforms in a networked environment.
  • Experience with industry leading hardware and software technologies desired. Specific experience with Dell, Microsoft, MS Office, SCCM, McAfee and PowerShell a plus.
  • Desired attributes: Self-motivation, excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances and be willing to work hours outside of a regular schedule.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD 8570 IAT II certification.
  • US citizenship is required.
