We are in need of a motivated Modeling & Simulation Engineer/Test 4 to support our Mission Technologies Division, which has over 100 facilities worldwide and provides capabilities to support an all-domain force that includes artificial intelligence and machine learning, autonomous systems, critical nuclear operations, LVC systems, cyberspace strategies, and platform modernization.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Utilizes modeling and simulation tools and/or uses industry tools to assist with test and evaluation of complex, technical problems relating to a wide variety of platforms and systems.
  • Works side-by-side with existing subject matter experts in mechanics, platform design, sensors, optics, communications, and/or modeling and simulation.
  • Evaluates algorithms that perform tests and that produce test data. Integrates into test environment large scale simulations to support multiple mission scenarios and integrates existing models from mission partners into simulations.
  • Evaluates and validates models employed to test dynamic agent behaviors.
  • Evaluates complex results and determines engineering recommendations based on analysis.
  • This role supports task for the Cyber Command and Control & Infrastructure capability area.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • TS/SCI or Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS: Computer Science; Experienced lead Software Engineer Oversaw the day-to-day effort and direction of an agile development team.
  • Produced near-term planning and design documents utilized by management and engineers.
  • Served as the software engineering trainer for all incoming engineers.
  • Liaison to customer(s) and on-site support during feature testing and training events.
  • Worked on-site with system operators to translate needs into requirements.
  • Lead Software Architect Adapted legacy application infrastructure and concepts for satellite simulation.
  • Reduced build time by 90% via redesign and refactor of build systems (Make/Ant). Exercised agile development techniques and best practices.
  • Modeling and Simulation Lead Designed/Implemented C/Java unit test and code coverage framework (gtest/Junit, gcov/JaCoCo).
  • Java web service refactors in support of configuration-driven model architecture.
  • Encapsulated C model architecture to ease maintenance and development overhead.
  • Derived software requirements from the system requirements specification.
  • Ran/Developed daily scrums, team product, and sprint backlogs.
  • Modeling and Simulation Developer Simulated radar, combat, and interceptor systems behavior and characteristics.
  • Develop an Interface Design Description (IDD) to formalize recurring data requests.
  • Create tools/scripts (Bash, Python, MATLAB/Octave) to translate and validate data. Analysis of generated model data using MATLAB 2D and 3D plotting.
  • Update Java web services to support new interfaces and data exchanges.
  • Systems Administration/Information Assurance (IA)/Cybersecurity Supported program/facility hardware/software for multi-client/server development/test environments.
  • Established cross-platform (Windows/Linux), single-sign-on (SSO) infrastructure (Samba/LDAP).
  • Design/implement/deploy an IA/Cybersecurity compliant compute environment (CE).
