Foxchase Apartment Homes located in Alexandria, VA!This position will support our affordable communities that are covered by government regulations.

Foxchase Apartments are located conveniently off the Capitol Beltway, this 2,113 unit community sits on a park-like setting of 88 wooded acres located 3 minutes from Inova Hospital and just 10 minutes from downtown DC. Administrative Assistants play a vital role in keeping us organized and on track. We are looking for a team-oriented professional to help manage daily office operations on our Affordable housing side of the business. An Administrative Assistant is a business professional who must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment where organizational expertise is essential. Must have a strong experience using word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation programs.

A bit more about what you’ll do…

  • Making appointments, receiving and screening visitors and telephone calls using a telephone script.
  • Maintaining and controlling confidential files and records.
  • Preparing leases for occupancy and making initial computation of rents and monthly payments according to authority policy.
  • Reviewing applications and interviews applicants for housing.
  • Maintains the waiting list of applicants for housing and determines applicant eligibility.
  • Maintaining continuing compliance and resident relations, upholding all fair housing principles, and applying the unique Program rules correctly including the student, unit transfer, unit vacancy and available unit rules.
  • Arranges an appointment if required and may issue visitor passes.
  • May also collect and distribute mail, do light clerical work.
  • May operate office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and computers.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be able to address the needs of our residents, team members, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. The right candidate should have a strong administrative and customer service background. Here are a few things to consider –

  • Great computer skills are needed! An Administrative Assistant uses a variety of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, as well as a variety of other programs.

  • Multi-tasking and adaptation are key elements to success!
