NIC Federal is currently looking to hire a Business Analyst to assist with an important new digital government project, bringing together technology, payment processing, and marketing. You will join a team responsible for bringing a new digital service online, from prototype to execution and on-going innovation and delivery.

Position Description

The Business Analyst helps organizations cost-effectively implement technology solutions by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators, and partners. Developing technical solutions to business problems, or advancing an organization’s other efforts, begins with defining, analyzing and documenting requirements. As such, managing requirements at the project level can help fulfill business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with business case development
  • Plan and monitor development of contract deliverables
  • Elicit requirements
  • Organize requirements
  • Translate and simplify requirements
  • Manage and communicate requirements
  • Analyze requirements
  • Use requirements to drive the design or review of requirement test cases
  • Create processes for change management

Requirements:

  • Ability to apply best practices in written and verbal communication, including technical writing, skills for practical problem-solving. Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to deliver functional requirements
  • Understanding of systems engineering concepts
  • The ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis of project requirements
  • Business case development
  • Ability to gather, review and analyze data requirements with expertise
  • Ability to prioritize requirements and create conceptual prototypes and mock-ups
  • Master of strategic business process modeling, traceability and quality management techniques
  • Advanced PC skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint)
  • Experience writing testing processes
  • Experience with SQL database management and maintenance
  • Ability to track, control and update select project information and documentation
  • Familiarity with agile scrum practices

Years of Professional Experience:

  • 3-5 years of business-related professional experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business administration, Computer Science, or related field.

Certification:

  • CBAP™ Certification (preferred)
  • CSM/CSPO (preferred)

Clearance:

  • Selected candidate will be required to obtain a Public Trust
  • Secret Clearance preferred
