About the Opportunity

Primary Skill(s)

Methodical troubleshooting skills with extensive hands-on experience in Juniper and Cisco network products and services.

Perform systems engineering, design, analysis, and documentation of data networks.

Secondary Skill(s)

Experience in vendor interaction and management.

Strong communication skills, analytical ability, decisiveness, judgment, and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management, staff, and vendors.

Roles and responsibilities

Expert in areas of configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, proxy servers, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).

Must have deep knowledge and hands on experience with MPLS, BGP, MACSec, DNS, SNMPv3, IP subnetting, route aggregation, and BGP route maps etc.

Can perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations independently.

Monitor network performance on a regular basis and ensure system availability and reliability is always maintained.

Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve network issues.

Be a result oriented, go to person for the team.

Maintain a positive attitude and think about the solution not the problem when troubleshooting P1/P2 incidents.

Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented network changes.

Strike to automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.

Proficient in creating High Level and Low-Level design documents in Visio.

Monitor and maintain all levels of network security internally and externally.

Responsible for preparation of Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports for senior management.

Requires participation in on-call rotation.

Basic Qualification

Five or more years of relevant work experience supporting network infrastructure for large public or private or government organizations.

An in-depth background in Juniper and Cisco products, standards, protocol, and security standards, as well as LAN/WAN/MAN design is necessary.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong understanding of the tools and processes used in managing large data networks.

Must Have Skill(s)

Attention to details.

Proficient in Routing and Switching, diagnostics, debugging, tracking the packets, firewall and load balancing concepts.

Active Juniper Certification - JNCIA-Junos (minimum) Or, Active Cisco Certification - CCNA (minimum).

Perform advance troubleshooting skills and resolve complex network problems.

Be onsite at customer location 2 days a week and/or as needed.

Must be available for on-call rotation schedule set by the management.

Good to have / Preferred

Knowledge of Azure.

Understanding of ITIL principals.

Work experience in a managed services IT environment is preferred.
