Job Description
The Business Intelligence Solutions group within the Global Data and Business Intelligence (GDBI) organization works with internal stakeholders to enable faster decision-making, data democratization and self-service through building innovative, scalable best-in-class dashboard and reporting solutions. enable business partners to glean valuable insights from Visa's unique global data assets.
We are looking for an established data visualization professional to guide a team of dashboard developers. The clean, intuitive, and beautiful user interfaces your team designs and builds will enable business partners to glean valuable insights from Visa's unique global data assets. You will allow users to gain new insights and tell their own data stories.
Responsibilities
As a Sr. Manager, you will establish design and development standards, processes, and best practices. The team will partner with data engineers and program managers to deliver advanced BI capabilities to a global customer base.
- Deliver small to large data dashboard projects either individually or as part of a project team.
- Establish design prototyping rigor and consultative best practices with our stakeholders
- Manage Tableau Server user experience and dashboard portfolio including data sources, and user activity analytics, and security controls
- Develop solutions leveraging agile principles
- Provide thought leadership to Global Data & BI team including collaboration with Visa’s Data Experience design center.
- Build, lead, and develop a team of high performing dashboard developers and analysts.
Office Locations
Hiring location is Arlington, VA, but other Visa Campus locations in US may be considered.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of technical experience leading business intelligence or data visualization projects. Basic Qualifications: 7-10 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD) or 3 years of experience with a PhD A strong data visualization portfolio demonstrating how you design to solve customer needs Advanced experience with visualization software, preferably Tableau, is required In depth knowledge of interactive data visualization best practices Experience leading design discovery meetings with end-users Excellent grasp of the design thinking and the prototyping process Experience working in big data environment is a plus Experience working in an Agile or fast-paced and dynamic environment is a plus Visa experience or knowledge of payments industry is a plus, but not mandatoryPreferred Qualifications: 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhDAdditional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.
