Job Title Cybersecurity Business Analyst

Location Arlington, VA (currently fully remote until COVID protocols are lifted)

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and proactive Cybersecurity Business Analyst who will provide support for national-level cybersecurity outreach and event management efforts. This role supports US government cybersecurity leadership; you will be responsible for working with federal, industrial, SLTT, and international partners to facilitate sharing of critical cybersecurity information. You will provide outreach for national-level Critical Industry and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) cybersecurity working groups and support working group managers. You may also use your expertise for organizing and supporting collaboration meetings, symposiums, seminars, and events.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide a cybersecurity-focused communication and engagement approach to develop and support an external engagement strategy, with targeted actions, tailored to key stakeholder audiences.

• Work to identify, build, and manage relationships with external stakeholders/audiences, representing Information Technology and Security.

• Provide cross-cutting support to the broader Cyber Engagement team, supporting the development of a unified approach to security communications.

• Assist in the development of communication materials, support leadership engagements as needed, and work to ensure the development of an overall narrative around the capabilities and program maturity.

• Develop working group plans and track milestones and timelines for meetings simultaneously.

• Coordinate logistics, including set up and arranging transcription and a summary of the meeting as assigned.

• Oversee and facilitate all aspects of meeting planning

• Work with designers on creating and editing materials for working groups and events

• Provide support for virtual conference including coordination of pre-conference needs, all day of needs, and follow up needs for reporting and lessons learned

• On site/virtual management of planning meetings

• Provide input and recommendations for upcoming plans and outreach activities

• Work closely with communications, customer engagement and cybersecurity team to coordinate and manage activities for working groups

Required Skills:

• 2+ years of relevant experience in project management, preferred in the cybersecurity community.

• A strong communications leader able to manage day-to-day tasks independently.

• Ability to easily communicate with senior government clients, lead discussions, and confidently discuss project status and propose solutions

• Demonstrated experience in working with clients to develop clear expectations, roles, and requirements for short and long-term projects

• Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills

• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.

• High-level proficiency with Excel (worksheets, formulas, analytics) and PowerPoint is required.

• Bachelor's degree in business, communications, cybersecurity, information systems and security, or a related discipline or equivalent experience

• Ability to keep abreast of current IT and cyber security concerns and trends, regulatory compliance requirements, vulnerabilities, and emerging technologies to include best practices across the cyber security industry.

• An innovative and creative thinker who can get to the essence of the matter and communicate concisely and in an engaging manner.

• Business acumen, change management, project and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to develop clear and concise presentations, reports and dashboards to inform upper management of relevant metrics and trends.

• Ability to proactively obtain and leverage new and current information to efficiently achieve team and corporate goals.

• Proficiency with usage of Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and others.

• Experience developing and managing SharePoint sites and content.

• Excellent written and verbal communications, effective interpersonal skills, strong formal presentation abilities, project management skills

• Professional, clear, and concise verbal and written communication to internal customers, subject matter experts, upper management and other audiences

• Strong deductive reasoning, critical thinking, problem solving, prioritization, attention to detail and consultative skills

• A collaborative team player who will solicit and offer input and support decision-making.

• Proven organizational skills (time management and prioritization), and also employ a rigorous process for all follow-up / coordination activities.

• Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively at all levels of the business including both technical and non-technical staff, management and senior leadership.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience in the federal government sector
  • Experience supporting DHS programs or initiatives
  • Ability to apply knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, policies, and procedures is a plus
  • Customer service orientation with strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with product owners and team leads to decompose large epics into manageable user stories
  • Manage backlog, roadmap, priorities and engage product and stake holder team to move towards a common vision
  • Conduct testing such as functional testing, user acceptance testing and pre and post deployment testing
  • Ability to decompose complex topics and experience to explain them using white boards
  • Builds trust and respect, establish relationships, and develop rapport with technical and non-technical team members
Required Skills:
  • 2+ years' experience in IT or related industry
  • Strong experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage team members, clients, and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and UIUX principles
  • Experience working independently to deliver results
  • Experience applying various techniques to elicit requirements, create a shared understanding, and provide meaningful acceptance criteria to the team
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Strong knowledge of office productivity tools
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation
  • Strong analytical aptitude, and an ability to structure complex or undefined business problems
  • Prior consulting and client management experience is a plus
Desired Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted advisor relationships with clients
  • Experience supporting sales and business development
  • Experience with financial management
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree

Benefits for Principal Security Architect include:
