Title: IT ManagerFull Time/ Direct HireLocation: Arlington, VA The IT Manager is accountable for the management, delivery, support and performance of reliable IT Infrastructure and application services in support of business processes and strategies through an infrastructure and application as a service delivery model.

We are seeking to welcome an IT Manager to our Information Technology team. The IT Manager is accountable for the management, delivery, support and performance of a reliable IT Infrastructure and application services in support of business processes and strategies through an infrastructure and application as a service delivery model. The right candidate has a passion for the work and strives to apply technology where it can provide the most value to the business.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead large IT projects from an IT Infrastructure and Support perspective, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
  • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
  • Manage and forecast budgets
  • Manage direct reports
  • Ensure change management policies and procedures are followed
  • Lead root cause analysis process for critical IT incidents
  • Participate in the development and updates of IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
  • Responsible for all Service Desk activities including help desk and user problem resolution.
  • Participate in assessing vendors and test strategies for new hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT
  • Availability to work night and weekend hours on occasion as required

Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of career experience in Infrastructure technologies (Network, Data Center, Server Management, Storage, File Sharing, PCs, Mobility, Virtualization, Email, Messaging, Remote Connectivity, Cloud Computing and Integration). 2-5 years of experience working in IT operations
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership position
  • Experience managing a large outsourcing partnership in an IaaS and PaaS model.
  • Experience in managing traditional on-premise data centers
  • Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies in the cloud
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Networking
  • Strong knowledge of Office 365 and Azure cloud environments for applications, information (SharePoint) and analytics
  • Evaluating and automating the scaling and capacity requirements within Azure environments to tune the landscape and capture savings.
  • Ensuring federated access across Active Directory and Azure AD
  • Troubleshooting and resolving Azure environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of supporting virtualized environments (Azure VDI's a plus)
  • Proven track record of driving organizational change, breaking down barriers, critical thinking and driving results.

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong experience in implementing, monitoring and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network and Security
  • Strong knowledge of Backup, Restore, Recovery and high availability strategies for Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of IaaS and PaaS services
  • Windows Server and SQL database creation, configuration, upgrade, migration and patching
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving Azure environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot Azure server and SQL database related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resources
  • Strong understanding and background of working with a complex Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP and the requirement of strictly following standards, procedures, and processes
  • Advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Kerberos and Windows Authentication
  • Knowledge of network protocols such as: DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP
  • Knowledge of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting.
  • Knowledge of Cisco network equipment/IOS: routing, switching, and firewalls a plus
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of VPN connectivity and client trouble shooting.
  • Excellent PowerShell skills
  • Experience with Azure AD, Active Directory including managing/maintaining GPO's
