Duties Summary This announcement is issued under the

Responsibilities This position is located in the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Infrastructure Security Division, Infrastructure Assessments and Analysis Branch. The Infrastructure Security Division (ISD) focuses on protecting critical infrastructure from all hazards by managing risk and enhancing resilience through collaboration with the critical infrastructure community, which includes private sector owners, operators, and employees; State, local, tribal, and territorial officials; and other Federal agencies. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist with the Infrastructure Assessments and Analysis Branch. Typical work assignments include:
  • Participating in complex IT work projects and assignments;
  • Coordinating with other experts in other specialty areas to assist in the development of integrated action plans and the distribution of technical bulletins;
  • Collaborating with other specialists to ensure the proper execution of the IT Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) Implementation & Operations/Maintenance (I&O/M) stage, responsible for engagement with the Data Center, support the configuration management and change control processes, and disposal of the IT systems;
  • Collaborating with senior Information Technology/security specialists and applying Information Technology security protocols to analyze complexities of system certification and accreditation;
  • Reviewing and providing recommendations pertaining to the change management policies and procedures for MSB to the process owner/manager;
  • Conducting risk analysis, feasibility study, and/or trade-off analysis to develop, document, and refine functional requirements and specifications.

Qualifications You may be considered for GS-2210 Series if you possess information technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies:
  • Attention to Detail: Performs analysis of systems and reviews processes for improvement or new proposed systems.
  • Customer Service: Work with internal and/or external clients to ensure proper operation of IT systems.
  • Oral Communication: Expresses information that can be technical in nature to leadership or staff to ensure proper IT operations.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems and determines appropriate system changes, upgrades or design to ensure proper function.
  • GS-9: In addition to the above GS-2210 Series competencies requirement, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level performing the following duties or education listed below in order to substitute:
  • Experience with IT project management to include asset management, configuration management, change control boards (CCB), inventory management and IT systems development life cycle management;
  • Experience with risk management processes such as methods for assessing and mitigating risk;
  • Coordinating with system architects and developers.
  • OR Have a

    Master's or an equivalent graduate degree or successfully completed two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in

    computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

    GS-11: In addition to the above GS-2210 Series competencies requirement you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level performing the following duties or education listed below in order to substitute:
  • Determining and documenting system requirements to assist/develop, implement, or maintain configuration management and change control processes;
  • Experience with IT security principles, concepts and methods used in reducing risks to an organization's IT infrastructure;
  • Performing tasks and meeting gate reviews within a typical system development life cycle to ensure quality and dependability of information system;
  • Ensuring integration of security programs with other IT program services.
  • OR Have a

    Ph.D.; or an equivalent graduate degree or successfully completed three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.; or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, sta

    tistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
