NIC Federal is currently looking to hire a Junior Software Developer to assist with an important new digital government project, bringing together technology, payment processing, and marketing. You will join a team responsible for bringing a new digital service online, from prototype to execution and on-going innovation and delivery.

NIC Federal is currently seeing applicants for a Junior Software Developer for our Arlington, VA location. Position Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated individual with strong organization and communication skills and knowledge in .Net development best practices, frameworks, and tools that thrives in a fast-paced, team environment. This candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining .Net projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Modify software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces
  • System testing and validation procedures
  • Software programming and documentation development
  • Consult with departments or customers on project status and proposals.
  • Work on technical issues including software system design and maintenance
  • Analyze information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications of an existing system
  • Consult with engineering staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements
  • Design and develop software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and design consequences
  • Prepare reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status
  • Confer with project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of programming languages
  • Knowledge of the software development life-cycle
  • Ability to develop unit testing of code components or complete applications.
  • Must be a full-stack developer and understand concepts of software engineering.
  • Experience working on a variety of software development projects.
  • Expertise with .NET C#, ASP.NET, JQuery, PL-SQL, T-SQL
  • Agile Scrum experience
  • Experience with UX/UI design
  • Critical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Experience with Tableau integration

Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of the following:

  • Agile development process
  • Contractual documentation/artifact creation
  • Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) creation
  • Management of Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
  • DevOps, including the integration and development of tools, cloud services, etc.

Years of Professional Experience:

  • 3+ years of professional experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline (preferred)

Security Clearance:

  • Selected candidate will be required to obtain a Public Trust
