Blacksburg Country Club is looking to fill multiple positions in the golf course maintenance department. This is a seasonal position with 40+ hours per week.
Eligible candidates must be able to:
1. Operates walk mowers and string trimmers in trimming greens, approaches, tees, around trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides; edges, rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
2. Operates large area mowers to maintain fairways, tees, and rough
3. Sets tee markers; maintains ball washers; replaces tee towels and flags when needed; removes debris; sands and seeds tee divots; and cleans flower beds.
4. Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis; reports equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager immediately.
5. Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility; and cleans the maintenance areas.
6. Helps in project work; assists in the construction of tees and fairways; grades and prepares soil base; lays sod; and seeds tees, greens and fairways.
7. Excavates and backfills ditches and trenches with hand tools; repairs and replaces pipe on irrigation systems
8. Working knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools and equipment.
9. Ability to operate light motorized equipment.
10. Be able to lift 50 pounds and spend extended periods of time on ones feet.
11. Ability to follow oral and written directions.
12. Must possess a valid drivers license.
13. Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
