BCI is hiring construction workers for highway construction projects in Roanoke, Botetourt, Craig, and Franklin Counties.
Past experience should include one or more of the following: general labor on highway construction projects, laying pipe (concrete, water line, sewer line), concrete work (curb and gutter, form setting, finishing), landscaping, or carpentry.
Construction workers will have to preform the following tasks:
-Use handtools such as shovels, rakes, digging bar, hammers, sledge hammer, trowels, etc.
-Use power tools chainsaws, concrete saw, weedeaters, pole saw.
-Operate equipment such as a soil tamper (jumping jack/wacker) and walk behind ditch roller
-Rigging pipe, manholes, and other construction materials with chains, straps, or spreader chains
-Use pipe laser to grade stone for pipe, manholes, or box culverts.
-Use impact drills, skil saws, cut off saws.
-Mix concrete and grout.
- Carry construction materials
Must be able bodied and phyically able to lift more than 40 lbs. Having reliable transportation, and being drug free is a must. Company does pre-employment drug screens.
The company provides benefits to full-time employees such as health insurance, paid time off, and holidays. Starting pay $12.50-$15.00 depending on experience. Typical hours are 40 - 50 per week Monday - Friday. We work year-around.
