Job Number: 715 Riverside Research is seeking a Solutions Architect to oversee its collection planning application development team! Join Riverside Research's Aircraft and Satellite Collection Planning Teams! Riverside Research's Modeling and Application Development Group has an immediate opening for a Solutions Architect. We are a passionate team who apply cutting edge advances in optimization and cloud-native and hybrid cloud solutions to solve real-world challenges using agile methodologies in a collaborative environment that will transform our customers' experience in ways we cannot yet imagine. These mission critical efforts include development of innovative enterprise, cloud, scalable, and application-based solutions for mission management and collection orchestration. We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to organize and coordinate software development and sustainment projects across multiple projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop IT strategies, roadmaps, architectural products, systems and deliverables for the Group's research and operational projects. You will advise on the feasibility of transformation and migration initiatives for all phases of programs from inception to completion. You will plan transformations across and within application portfolios and advocate technological application programs to achieve long-range objectives. You should also have a working knowledge common, multi-tiered application architectures and legacy modernization approaches. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind, be an excellent leader, and the ability to manage a diverse team to produce software solutions in a cost-effective, timely manner. Ultimately, you are motivated by the desire to deliver critical solutions and nurture your team's success. The incumbent will support other development efforts to include the promotion of innovative enterprise, cloud, scalable, and application-based solutions for mission management, command and control, and collection orchestration along with premier operations and sustainment capabilities of space-based programs in support of national security. Job Responsibilities:
  • Analyze legacy architecture built on .Net and Oracle RDB to design a microservices architecture using PostgreSQL or some equivalent database
  • Lead planning a roadmap for and implementation of the new architecture, as well as for the program, which includes several projects
  • Manages end-to-end from conception, through delivery, into production of solution architectures
  • Partners with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions
  • Leads the design and modeling of architectures for delivery, development, and support of projects
  • Designs both the physical and logical components of solution architectures
  • Provides a consensus-based scalable and adaptable architectural solution
  • Oversees technical analysis and design capabilities
  • Research current and emerging technologies and process methodologies to address challenges and/or improve operations
  • Facilitates technology design workshops for emerging technologies
  • Proactively identify and resolve challenging issues in a variety of software applications
  • Assess the system and business process architectures currently in place and works with staff to recommend improvements
  • Enforce technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms
  • Identify and capture new business or growth opportunities to expand business portfolio
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance with CI/Poly
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field (e.g., engineering, mathematics)
  • 5+ years as a Solutions Architect
  • Experience with technical, application, and information architecture delivery techniques and methodologies
  • Expert in modern technologies such as RESTful Services, Docker, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Git, microservice architectures
  • Working knowledge of modern Operating Systems (Linux/Windows), Networking, Servers/Mainframe, Secure Coding Practices, Development Environments (Java/.Net), Databases (DB2/Oracle)
  • Experience designing and developing scalable and high-available cloud-based solutions on Azure or AWS
  • Experience leading a software development team in delivery of complex and challenging software solutions.
  • Proven technical knowledge of infrastructure components such as Network, Storage, Linux/Windows, Application knowledge of Java, .Net, and IT security.
  • Experience with multiple database technologies including Oracle, NoSQL, PostgreSQL
  • Experience with Agile methods
  • Working knowledge of one or more programming languages
  • Ability to document designs
  • Experience managing complex projects, short deadlines, and competing priorities with distributed teams
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, time-management, leadership, and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications:
  • Active TS with SCI eligibility within the last 2 years (able to obtain CI Poly) OR Active TS/SCI CI Poly
  • Understanding of orbital mechanics and satellite modeling, preferably in the domain of collection planning
  • Understanding of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) process
  • Understanding of DevSecOps
  • Experience with event-driven architecture a plus
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification
