100% REMOTE Our industry leading public sector client has an excellent opportunity available for an Axway Secure Transport Engineer to support a government program 100% remotely. This position requires a minimum of Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or has equivalent work experience. Must have strong administration support skills in UNIX (Solaris / Linux), Axway Secure Transport and IBM Connect Direct experience, strong communication and documentation skills, and must be able to implement and support specialized business and technical information technology solutions. On-call support for 24x7x365 environment.

Responsibilities of the Axway Secure Transport Engineer:
  • Perform support responsibilities in Axway Secure Transport and Connect Direct in Unix / Linux
  • Provide build and operational support including troubleshooting, timely resolution, and root cause analysis of incidents in the environments
  • Perform change management (CM) role on the components. Implement change requests based on CM processes
  • Implement necessary steps to prevent future incidents
  • Install, upgrade and maintain Secure Transport and Connect Direct products
  • Set up and configure new Secure Transport connections
  • Experience with one or more of the following managed file transfer products: Secure Transport, Connect Direct

Requirements of the Axway Secure Transport Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or at least 5 years of experience
  • Strong Unix/Linux systems administration skills
  • Experience configuring and setting up secure transport and connect direct in a Unix/Linux environment
  • Strong knowledge of HTTP, HTTPS, and SFTP protocols
  • Understanding and management of SSL, TLS, data encryption, and certificates
  • Experience identifying and troubleshooting system outages
  • Shell scripting (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Cloud technologies and networking
  • Ability to work off hours, weekends, and on call for production support
