The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer (Senior Member of Technical Staff) to support the Strategies, Architectures and Shared Services (SASS) department in the Ground Enterprise Subdivision. In this role you will design prototypes, system and software test planning and execution campaigns supporting ground system and architecture modernization efforts. Your software development expertise will influence the future ground architecture and data services for ingest, discovery, and delivery. As part of the discovery process you will be recommending new technologies and engineering techniques for current and future ground sub-systems.

This position requires 100% on site work with the customer in Chantilly, VA

What You'll Be Doing
  • Influence the development of future ground architecture and prototypes
  • Participate in technical and project engineering activities with respect requirements, design, and implementation), software delivery (test, installation, checkout) and integration
  • Review and recommend modern software development processes and tools and apply knowledge of data science and analysis
  • Work collaboratively with architects, managers, and engineering consultants in integrated product teams that include government, FFRDC, and contractor members

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a recognized institution in engineering, mathematics, or technical science
  • 5 years of coding in Python, C/C, or other relevant languages
  • Experience operating in an Agile, DevSecOps, or other advanced software development methodologies
  • Experience with software systems engineering processes including requirements development, configuration management, testing, and documentation
  • Active Secret security clearance; eligible for Top Secret SCI clearance
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Advanced degree (or equivalent) from a recognized institution in engineering, mathematics, or technical science
  • Prior experience working with Ground Enterprise Directorate
  • Demonstrated software development proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (C, Java, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with containers (e.g., Docker, Marathon/Mesos, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Logging and Monitoring Telemetry (e.g., ELK, Splunk, App Dynamics, Grafana, CloudWatch)
  • CI/CD Pipeline experience (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo)
  • Experience with Jira and helpdesk tools (Remedy, PIER, ServiceNow)
