Aerospace's Cybersecurity and Advanced Platforms Subdivision is seeking a Director with experience in Cybersecurity Assessments and Network Security to lead the Cyber and Assessments Research Department (CARD). This department has approximately 15 cybersecurity engineers who perform research, capability development, and program support to help ensure the security of space mission systems.

This role has the potential for a hybrid schedule and also onsite work is required.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and lead engineering staff to create cutting edge prototypes in the fields of Network and Space Mission Cybersecurity
  • Collaborate with outside organizations to provide technical support and outreach for CARD's technical capabilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with program offices to sustain the department's activities
  • Develop and mentor managers within the department
  • Personally perform Cybersecurity related engineering tasks as appropriate, including hands on development
  • Work with other departments to provide technical demonstrations and capabilities.
  • Lead staff who reside in several places around the country with a large concentration in Chantilly, VA.
  • Develop and implement the department's technical strategy and guide the department's research and development portfolio
  • Build teams with appropriate skills and coordinate staffing and priorities to ensure excellent support to customers
  • Assign resources, estimate staffing needs, coordinate activities, and connect with requisite stakeholders

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Security, or another related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Cybersecurity Assessments, Threat Research, Network Security, Software Development, Industrial Control Systems, or related fields
  • Fluency with Network Systems Assessment Techniques, Cybersecurity Principles, Cloud Architectures, and Space Systems
  • Ability to provide departmental strategic and budget planning, workforce planning, recruiting and staffing, succession planning, personnel development, and customer relationships
  • Consistent track record of establishing and maintaining effective interpersonal and working relationships with different levels of corporate staff, peers, management, program offices, customers, and contractors
  • Previous experience leading highly technical project teams
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for interactions at all organizational levels
  • Willing to travel domestically up to 10%
  • Current and active Top-Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information access TS/SCI government clearance

  • Advanced degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Security, or another related field
  • Significant hands-on experience with multiple aspects of Computer and Network Security
  • Significant Space Mission experience
  • Previous experience with spacecraft design and/or command and control systems
  • Experience with Embedded Security
  • Experience with COMSEC requirements
  • Experience with Cloud Security
