HR Generalist Position:Ampcus Inc., is an ISO 9001, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, CMMI L3 certified Technology and Business Consulting Services company supporting clients in Commercial, Federal, and State & Local organizations We are currently seeking a HR Generalist in our Corporate Headquarters Office in Chantilly, Virginia, supporting the HR Department in the day-to-day activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Support the HR Manager in the day-to-day activities
  • Point of Contact for employee related matters, employee verification, unemployment claims, involuntary terminations, employee relations issues, and policy guidance
  • Provide guidance as needed; (e.g., coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions)
  • Assist with benefits administration and record keeping
  • Maintain HR System and Employee Files
  • Manage existing web portal and respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Main Point of Contact for background check escalations
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Prepares and present required documentation to legal counsel; organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items
  • Participate in special projects as needed

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

E

ducation and Experience:
  • Associate Degree in Human Resources, Paralegal, or related field preferred
  • 5-7 year of experience in Compliance and Employment law preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience resolving complex employee related issues
  • SHRM CP or SCP preferred
  • Some related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
