Job Summary

The National Systems Group serves as the technical adviser to the National Reconnaissance Office and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch. Leveraging the corporation's core competencies and cutting-edge technologies to support the acquisition and operation of major programs, NSG's strategic focus is the application of systems engineering approaches to national intelligence, providing sound and objective technical recommendations and solutions .

In this opportunity you will serve as an Electronics and RF Systems Engineer for the Survivability and Resilience Office of the Advanced Technology Division within the National Systems Group. In this role, you will be advising customers on the feasibility and associated risks of communication systems and electronics for innovative new resiliency technologies. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in evaluating RF systems, designing antennas systems, and experience with RF and electronics simulation software. The successful candidate will also have extensive experience with testing and measurement of RF systems. The engineer will be working within a matrix organization to envision, develop and mature technical solutions in coordination with participants from other groups in support of the Survivability and Resilience Office.

This is a 100% on-site position at our Chantilly, VA., location.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Developing and maturing communication system requirements through multiple tiers from a combination of mission requirements & objectives as well as from capability-based features.
  • Defining, developing, and evaluating system performance metrics and CONOPs
  • Coordinating matrix engineering support to aid with program planning, requirements development, functional evaluation, performance estimation and verification activities
  • Planning and supporting milestone readiness reviews.
  • Supporting enterprise level integration & test planning and execution.
  • Providing on-site technical and programmatic support directly to the government customer.
  • Evaluating the viability of RF electronics and communication system implementations as envisioned by industry.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering, mathematics, or science field
  • A minimum of 8 years engineering experience
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering processes and rhythms
  • Willing to support routine travel (typically a few days per month)
  • Knowledge of electronics and communications systems
  • Experience with the design of RF electronics
  • Understanding of antenna and communication system measurements
  • This position requires the ability to have and maintain a current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • Demonstrated success leading teams in a matrixed organization
  • Strong communication skills, with experience conveying technical and programmatic information between multi-organizational technical staff and the customer executives
