The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Project Leader to support the Ground Enterprise Team. The Ground Enterprise team assists the customer in the acquisition and fielding of ground mission management, command and control, and mission data processing systems. The Sr. Project Leader will act a senior advisor to the customer and provide the leadership and guidance to facilitate the customer formulation of concepts, requirements, and strategies for the organization, as well as support to the associated development activities to ensure mission success.

This position is located 100% on site in the Program Office.

What you'll Be Doing
  • Assisting and advising Customers utilizing systems engineering expertise, analytic capability, senior management expertise and budget planning and programming.
  • Leading personnel and assisting development and acquisition of SIGINT ground systems providing objective input to strategies, plans and resolution of issues.
  • Provide guidance and direction to Aerospace Engineering Matrix technical teams in the conduct of studies pertinent to customer mission objectives.
  • Leadership and participation in program trades and assessments for validation of technical solutions and operational concepts and to ensure functional and performance requirements and objectives can be satisfied.
  • Assess organizational strategies to identify implementation challenges, development gaps and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Assist customer leadership guide the development and acquisition of scalable solutions that leverage cloud agnostic services.
  • Assist customer leadership in the implementation of industry best practices and DevSecOps processes to improve the development environment.
  • Participation in lifecycle readiness activities program acquisition and contract planning and execution discussions and activities.

What you need to be successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of progressively more responsible engineering experience.
  • Experience in one of more of the following domains:
    • SIGINT intelligence collection systems, operations, and intelligence analysis
    • AGILE, DevSecOps and /or Cloud architectures
    • Program management and DOD budget programming
    • Requirements, and acquisition processes
    • Satellite ground systems (design, acquisition, development, architecture, and operations).
    • Elements and processes associated with the system acquisition lifecycle
    • Cloud computing, microservice architectures and service-oriented architectures
  • Experience in directing diverse technical teams in technical studies.
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How you can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Advanced academic degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related engineering or scientific field.
  • Experience in working with mixed government, SETA, and FFRDC teams in technical, architecture, strategy, and systems engineering projects and tasks.
  • Familiarity with satellite ground systems (design, acquisition, development, architecture, and operations).
  • Familiarity or experience with Agile and DevSecOps software development practices.
  • Experience leading teams and participating in systems engineering and integration testing and network architectures.
  • Experience with the elements and processes associated with a government system acquisition lifecycle.
  • Prior experience within the Intelligence Community
  • Strong working knowledge of SIGINT ground system architectures, including mission management and processing systems.
  • Experience in Software Program Management
