Join a small, dynamic program office team supporting the delivery of a first-of-its-kind Major Systems Acquisition for the Resiliency Program Office, within the Survivability and Resilience Office, part of the National Systems Group. As the Senior Space Segment Systems Engineer / Space Segment Systems Engineer you will lead the rapid development and execution of an innovative, tailored mission assurance baseline in support of a critically important space acquisition program. This opportunity is located 100% on-site with the customer in Chantilly, VAWhat You'll Be Doing- Collaborating with program office, contractor, and ETG counterparts in a high-velocity environment to establish and execute an innovative, tailored mission assurance baseline for a hi-visibility, first of its kind, Major Systems Acquisition program
- Managing requirements flow-down, design maturation activities starting from the PDR milestone, through CDR, manufacture, integration, test, and launch
- Leading development / publication of periodic program Mission Assurance Reports detailing Aerospace contributions and highlighting programmatic risks
- Providing critical insight into requirements process, unit specification development, production, and quality assurance processes to ensure development of an executable technical baseline
- Provide program representation for Aerospace Enterprise Engineering efforts
- Briefing Aerospace and Government senior leadership on topics related to mission assurance activities and risk management actions
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or relevant technical discipline
- A minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.
- Familiarity with National Security Space systems design, manufacture, integration and / or test
- Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to work in a collaborative on-site office environment with the customer
- Ability to support some routine travel
- This position requires a current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- A minimum of12 years of engineering experience.
- Direct experience with National Security Space systems design, manufacture, integration and / or test with demonstrable results
- Proven ability to collaborate with engineering resources to develop technical positions, provide risk assessments and formulate associated courses of action
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative on-site office environment with the customer
- Masters and/or PhD in Engineering, Science, Mathematics , or relevant technical discipline
- Experience working in an engineering matrix organization
- Demonstrated familiarity with standards governing spacecraft design, development, manufacturing, integration & test
- Prior experience and familiarity with DoD, Air Force and/or Intelligence Community resiliency initiatives
