Description SAIC's National Security and Space Sector is seeking a Space Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to a customer within the Intelligence Community (IC) in Chantilly, VA. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. SAIC has an opening for a systems engineer to provide SETA services to an IC customer responsible for conducting basic and applied Research and Development (R&D), maturing and transitioning promising technologies to evolve and revolutionize GEOINT, SIGINT, resiliency, and communications overhead applications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop documents and briefings to communicate program/project status; brief customer and industry as required
  • Provide acquisition support to include programmatics (budgets, schedules), contracts (SOWs, CDRLs, RFPs), and source selection efforts as needed
  • Support outreach through communication methods to include print and electronic; coordinate with organizational stakeholders
  • Review and asssess trade studies for potential use to support government pursuits
  • Provide technical review and assessment of program development and readiness activities
Qualifications
  • Current TS/SCI clearance with/Poly
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (systems mechanical, electrical or related discipline), or equivalent work experience
  • 9 years of relevant engineering and/or project management experience
  • Experience providing acquisition support to include working budgets, schedules, contracts (drafting SOWs, CDRLs, RFPs), and supporting source selection efforts
  • Demonstrated familiarity of spacecraft technologies, concepts, and systems
  • Strong interpersonal skill with effective technical writing and briefing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and energetic setting
  • Experience interacting with government agencies to include NRO, NASA, DOE, DoD (including labs)
  • Strong working knowledge of MS office applications, especially Power Point
