Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector is looking for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to support the Rubik's Cube program. The Rubik's Cube program is where technology and teamwork come together to meet the unique needs of the Intelligence Community. The Rubik's Cube program is comprised of multiple mission-focused projects ranging from mobile development to secure environments and data transfer development. Rubik's Cube tasks include system design, engineering development, system integration, development test, maintenance, and training. The location of this position is in Chantilly, Virginia.

Primary responsibilities of a successful candidate will include:
  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with software engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM related discipline
  • 8+ years software engineering experience
  • Experience scripting in a language such as Bash, Python or JavaScript
  • Experience in Encryption Methodologies and/or Networking
  • Ability to write scripts and tools, as needed, with minimal guidance
  • Ability to provide written and verbal Software Security Assessments
  • Understanding/knowledge of Secure Coding Practice
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or STEM related discipline
  • Experience working with mobile systems
  • Experience or knowledge of Android OS internals
  • Agile development lifecycle
  • Linux Kernel knowledge

Salary Range: $142,800 USD - $214,200 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
