- Develop human factors research, design, and testing of medical products and services from the user-centered design perspective.
- Assist in the development of user models through task analysis, process modeling, and user interviews to gain understanding of clinical needs, behavior, preferences, and workflow, and bring the end-user perspective to the development team to integrate these into design concepts.
- Plan and execute human performance and usability studies for a variety of user environments.
- Perform statistical analysis of behavioral and subjective user data.
- Use proven human factors methodologies and tools in order to recommend changes to improve product design or process development
- Work closely with the program team to identify, track, and monitor risks, issues, and problems.
- In collaboration with Risk Management and Clinical Engineering to analyze design to assess how use error may contribute to unsafe conditions and proactively identify risk mitigations and manage regular reporting schedule for quality and risk.
- 10 Years of IT Experience
- 5 Years of Business Analyst (BA) Experience
- 3 Years of relevant Human Factors / User Experience (UX) / User Interface (UI) Experience
- Experience shall demonstrate the ability to perform functional requirements and include a broad range of assignments performing analytical and/or technical requirements and analysis.
- Experience in practical user research, usability testing and consumer insight gathering.
- Experience assisting with medical modeling and simulation, proposals, and standards, would be helpful
- Familiarity with SAFe and/or Agile principles
- Working knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, Angular, etc.), would be helpful
- Masters Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline (or Bachelors Degree w/10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
- Human Factors / UX/UI certifications, such as CUA or CXA, would be helpful
- Current VA PIV card, VA GFE Laptop, and VA network access, would be helpful
- Must be able to achieve a moderate (Tier 2) VA position of trust.
