Demonstrates mastery in engineering disciplines including electronics pneumatics mechanical systems TCP/IP networking wireless communication protocols chemistry and ionizing radiation human anatomy and physiology. Independently designs and develops healthcare technology management programs to meet the needs of a diverse healthcare population of patients caregivers and LIPs Responsible for managing the coordination and provision of comprehensive medical equipment related services in focus clinical and administrative areas including technical support training procedural assistance vendor interface preventive maintenance and repair on complex medical equipment. Knowledge of systems and tools is proficient to aid in development and to resolve equipment problems and issues.

Primary Locations include Prince William Hospital (Manassas VA), Haymarket Hospital (Gainesville VA), and Culpeper Hospital (Culpeper VA). Works as part of a team of service technicians supporting the UVA Community Health Hospitals and associated clinics.

• Perform as full-service expert in focus clinicaland administrative areas including but not limited to radiology/imaginglaboratory or respiratory therapy• Demonstrates mastery of preventivemaintenance (PM) and repairs on minor tocomplex medical equipment• Demonstrates mastery in maintaining UVAmedical equipment inventory system• Paperwork for addition of newequipment to include accuratedescription warranty expiration datesmodel class department and locationof item is complete and accurate• Serial numbers model numbers andclinical engineering identification of allmaintained equipment are consistentlyverified• Resolves discrepancies in computerizedequipment management system-Inventory in specialty area is validatedannually• Coordinate and/or perform installation and initialinspections on medical equipment• Ensures compliance with all safety rules codespractices and policies• Mentors and trains technical staff.• In addition to the above job responsibilities,other duties may be assigned. Position Compensation Range: $32.62 - $52.19 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associate's Degree or CBET, Microsoft, Medical Device Manufacturer Certification, etc.Experience: 7-10 years relevant experienceLicensure: Valid Virginia Driver's License required

PHYSICAL DEMANDSJob requires sitting and standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/climbing ladders, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive) and walking (distance: 1 - 2 miles/day), Repetitive motion: computer keyboard and driving/traveling. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids, infectious disease and dust.
