Performs advanced implementation/support for systems application and monitoring. Responsible for installing configuring and maintaining operating system workstations and servers including web servers in support of business processing requirements. Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance. Develops and promotes standard operating procedures. Conducts routine hardware and software audits of server to ensure compliance with established standards policies and configuration guidelines. Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation. Provides integrated team support and maintenance of Technical Services hardware and software. Provides design and implementation support for server hardware Microsoft Windows operating systems virtualization Active Directory Group Policy TCP/IP/DHCP/DNS IIS SQL Exchange Clustering Load Balancing SAN/NAS and advanced support. Provides assigned on call support during nightly on call rotation and upon escalation.

  • Implements systems/applications per defined organization standards.
  • Implement and administer Microsoft SQL Server databases within a multi-tiered environment.
  • Supports/administers/maintains assigned servers and applications.
  • Monitor and maintains servers and computers, insuring maximum performance and system integrity. Establish a baseline for system performance and capacity planning.
  • Communicate project status to manager, customer, and team members.
  • Ensure deliverables meet all relevant quality and security standards
  • Provide data to generate team performance metrics.
  • Knowledge transfer with team members to improve overall support and team education level.
  • Identify root cause defects and systematically redesign standards and methodology to provide constant improvement.
  • Security focused; knowledgeable of least privilege security model, tiered rights.
  • Performs rotating and supplemental On-Call.
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Compensation Range: $34.61 - $55.38 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field requiredExperience: 3 years relevant experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Licensure: None required

PREFERRED SKILLS AND REQUIRMENTS:
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2016/2012;
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019/2017/2016/2014;
  • Experience with installing, supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows Server environments.
  • Familiarity with installation of all SQL components.
  • Experience upgrading SQL version and applying SQL patches.
  • Experience with SQL high availability technologies, including clustering and replication.
  • Experience with SQL backup and recovery
  • Experience with the SSRS, SSAS and SSIS.
  • Ability to setup and maintain statistics, indexes and agent jobs
  • Advanced understanding of SQL Security.
  • Ability to run and create SQL Server health assessments reports
  • Experience profiling SQL server resource usage, performance tuning and identification of bottlenecks; including Disk/Memory/CPU utilization
  • Ability to identify queries or SQL processes that are impacting system performance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems related to availability of data to system users, space, database software, data flows, data storage and data access.
  • Analyze and evaluate the security procedures required for specific mission-critical business systems as defined by customer security standards. Including SQL hardening.
  • Provide Technical support for MSSQL databases including responding to help desk tickets and working with customers to resolve issues
  • Experience migrating data between SQL servers and instances.
  • Familiar with T-SQL, and can generate ad-hoc T-SQL queries.
  • Experience with SQL Server PowerShell
  • Experience with high availability technologies; i.e. Windows Clustering, NLB
  • Experience with virtualization; preferably Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Experience with Web technologies.
  • Working Knowledge of Back-End Infrastructure technologies and principles (Storage, Disaster Recovery, and Security) preferred.
  • Experience with and ability to program in one or more of the following: Visual Basic, Vbscript, HTML, PowerShell
  • Experience installing, supporting and administrating Red Hat Linux systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to easily convey concepts to peers, managers, and customers
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to build and maintain constructive relationships among customers and peers.
  • Proven ability to work independently or under only general direction

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
