Supervisor, IT Desktop Support

Responsible for supervising departmental desktop IT operations. Core responsibilities include oversight of PC technicians engaged in configuring and deploying desktop systems, upgrades and moves of desktop systems, purchase of IT equipment, and associated equipment maintenance. These operations need to be in accordance with defined HIT service levels. This role will work with the PC Support Manager and Director of Desktop services to plan, implement, and initiate defined goals and programs in support of desktop IT at UVaHealth. The desktop computer IT environment includes all PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, peripherals as well as Windows and Mac, and mobile operating systems and related software and systems.

  • Provides supervision of desktop IT support technicians
  • Provides for and ensures the training and development of staff members in the effort of maintaining and enhancing knowledge of the HIT desktop environment
  • Maintains service levels, standards, and policies & procedures pertinent to HIT Desktop Services
  • Responsible and accountable for meeting external and/or internal customer needs.
  • Provides planning and coordination for desktop IT projects, in conjunction with direction for the PC Support manager and Desktop Services Director.
  • Serves as escalation point for desktop computing issues for areas under span of control
  • Ensures that ITSM & Remedy systems are utilized and updated properly for work performed as well as maintenance of IT asset inventory
  • Reviews monthly ticket and service request reports, identifying process improvements.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

This position will operate at the Haymarket locationPosition Compensation Range: $77,937.60 - $124,696.00 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience: 5 years' experience in related area required.Licensure: May require a valid Virginia Driver's License(VADL).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, climbing (ladder, steps), reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive) and driving. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to vibrations, humidity, cold, noise and dust.
