The University of Virginia Advancement Operations team seeks a Systems Engineer to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot system integrations, and support multiple technology platforms for the University of Virginia Advancement Operations.The primary functions of this position will be to maintain the integrity of the database of records, aid in the analysis, design, creation and programming of routine as well as ad hoc data loads from various sources such as Student Information System (SIS), National Change of Address (NCOA), Salesforce Marketing Cloud to name a few. Provide support for the advancement applications, including but not limited to Ellucian Advance, Salesforce CRM and other associated applications, aid in the implementation process of system transformation by ensuring data integrity, data mapping, testing, and validating. This position will also be part of the on-call team which monitors various systems and scheduled processes. Experience with modern integration tools like Mulesoft, Informatica, Boomi, or Jitterbit as well as API development is highly desired.Strong candidates for this role will have a good technical foundation in building and optimizing data systems, a love of learning, an ability to develop relationships across reporting lines and enjoy working in an agile environment. Excellent candidates will be able to adapt their communication style from collaboration with technical colleagues, diverse subject matter experts, and leadership, to working directly with our partners for their data needs or troubleshooting their issues.You will complete complex assignments independently and collaboratively to help maintain continuity of operations during a transition from legacy systems. This position is full-time, remote-friendly, with great benefits.Required EducationBachelor's degree in computer science, programming, related disciplines, or equivalent related experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Required ExperienceBachelor’s degree is required in addition to minimum of three (3) years of ETL development experience.

Proven track record with Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) design, development, implementation, and support responsibilities across various systems.

Proficient in PL/SQL or TSQL such as in Oracle, SQL Server, etc.

Experience with design and development of REST APIs.

Proven responsibility for troubleshooting existing services, performing root cause analysis, automating business processes.

Able to manage competing priorities and multiple tasks effectively with flexibility. Ability to be action oriented and demonstrate problem-solving skills.

Demonstrable experience preparing technical diagrams, logical data models, source to target maps, user-friendly documentation and responsibilities for stakeholder and vendor communications.

Experience participating in team-driven, deadline-oriented environment using project management tools and agile methods in an environment of shifting priorities.

Demonstrable experience in business requirements gathering, process improvement, project management, and effective communications.

Preferred ExperienceExperience with industry-leading ETL tools such as Mulesoft, Informatica, Jitterbit, or Boomi.

Experience designing Data Warehouse architectures.

Expertise using Oracle SQL Developer, Microsoft SSMS and SSIS, JavaScript, Python.

Familiar with CRM systems such as Salesforce, Blackbaud, Microsoft Dynamics.

Salesforce Certifications (Admin/Developer).
