The Microsoft Services team at The University of Virginia is seeking a Windows Server Engineer to join our Information Technology Services (ITS) Enterprise Infrastructure division. The Windows Server Engineer will be responsible for ongoing operations related to maintaining our current Active Directory and helping integrate other windows systems and servers with our own central Active Directory. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Active Directory and Windows Servers.

Duties Include:

  • Active Directory Maintenance and Troubleshooting.
  • Active Directory Federation Services Integrations and Troubleshooting.
  • Windows Server Configuration and Maintenance.
  • Provide top tier customer facing support for Active Directory and Windows Servers.
  • Azure Active Directory IDP Integrations/ Conditional Access Rules and Configuration.
  • Other Windows Engineering duties as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 3 years of relevant experience that includes some experience with a medium to large windows server environment. A bachelor's degree may substitute for some experience.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory Federation Services and Integrations
  • Experience with Windows Server administration
  • Strong Communication & Customer Service skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with Group Policy
  • Excellent PowerShell Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong & proven troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Duo Integrations
  • Microsoft Azure Skills and knowledge of Azure Active Directory
  • Experience with Exchange Online Knowledge

Anticipated Hiring Range: $80,000 - $90,000 depending upon relevant experience.
