UVA Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a Windows Server Engineer for the Research Computing Infrastructure Services team. This position is responsible for the deployment and administration of Windows Server Virtual Machines in our Standard and High Security VDI environments. They will develop and manage our Windows Computing environment, assist our User Services team with user project provisioning, including some Linux VM deployment, and storage provisioning.
The mission and goal of Research Computing is to provide centralized computational resources for researchers rather than general enterprise IT capacity. This involves working with a wide range of research software packages and the OpenStack Private Cloud Platform. Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical And at least 3 years of relevant work experience
- 7 years of administrative experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Strong ethernet debugging skills
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and interested in new technologies
- Able to work collaboratively and independently.
- Preferred Skills: GPO, Ansible, OpenStack and NIST 800-171
