We have an opening for a Food Truck Operator on FIREFLY on the Fly: a mobile offering from FIREFLY Restaurant. You will be an ambassador for FIREFLY Restaurant - serving customers from our food truck at area breweries, cideries, wineries, at festivals and local businesses. We are looking for responsible, reliable, passionate and energetic employees with at least 1 year of BOH experience and 1 year management experience interested in growing with our team and working with us long-term.
Work on the food truck will run year-round, though it is only part-time during the winter. Possible option to pick up shifts in the restaurant.
To be considered for employment, you need to be capable of working in a fast-paced environment both solo and as part of a team. Must be willing to work long hours standing on your feet.
Duties include prep, loading and driving the truck, working the line, keeping accurate inventory, interacting with customers, taking payments, making change, closing down and cleaning up the truck, as well as responding to email inquiries about food truck events, scheduling events, promoting events on social media.
You will occasionally be the only person operating the truck: taking orders and cooking all the food. Bigger events will have another person helping with customer service/ taking orders. You will be responsible for some of your own prep, and communicating with FIREFLY kitchen staff about upcoming events and prep needs.
The right candidates will be at least 21 years old, be comfortable in high volume environment, have a health-conscious lifestyle, always have a positive attitude, and a love for local food. Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license. Must be conscientious, dependable and trustworthy. Nonsmokers only, please.
