Academic Records Systems Analyst

The Office of the University Registrar (UREG) is responsible for the maintenance and integrity of current and former student academic records and activities related to those records. The Academic Records Systems Analyst assesses and redesigns existing business processes related to academic records, contributes to the smooth operation of academic record processes in UREG and the schools, and implements related process improvements in the Student Information System (SIS). Part of the UREG student records team, they work closely with the SIS Student Records, Academic Advising, and Campus Community teams and stakeholders in the schools, departments, and administrative units.

Responsibilities include:
  • Developing Student Records functional expertise in Student Information System (SIS) and assume primary responsibility for SIS functional processes in UREG related to Student Records (SR) in SIS
  • Assessing and redesigning existing business processes related to student academic records
  • Work collaboratively with the UREG SR Support team and others in UREG to ensure the smooth operation of student academic records processes
  • Supporting UREG team in providing high quality services to students, families, and the university community
  • Contributing to the development of a culture in UREG that is diverse, inclusive, equitable, collaborative, and healthy

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people from all levels and backgrounds at the University, including students, families, and faculty members
  • Excellent analytical skillsability to independently define problems accurately and concisely, using both quantitative and qualitative methods, develop and execute one or more solutions, and evaluate its effectiveness
  • Ability to independently analyze and redesign business processes, then guide and support others in implementing those redesigned processes
  • Ability to work successfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences within a cross-functional, team-based environment
  • Ability to lead and manage projects and groups effectively
  • Ability to achieve success within a rapidly changing and, at times, uncertain environmentmust be comfortable with and inspired by the prospect of change
  • Willingness to work within a variable work schedule, as determined by the needs of the organization
  • Ability to effectively facilitate and/or lead meetings and work groups

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience: At least one year of experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

This position will remain open until filled. This is an Exempt level, benefited position. This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. Anticipated Hiring Range: $45,000 - $55,000 commensurate with education and experience. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.
