Software Support Specialist

We're an established medical software company in Charlottesville, VA looking to add a motivated and dependable individual to our support team. For 25 years, our firm has provided quality IT solutions to physicians in small to mid-sized practices, and our core practice management and electronic medical records product currently serves healthcare providers nationwide.

The Software Support Specialist will join a support team that consistently earns high marks from its clients. At its heart, the position involves troubleshooting user problems and training physicians and their staffs in the use of a comprehensive medical software packageincluding accounting, scheduling, medical records, and electronic prescribing features. In addition, members of our team often find fast opportunities to grow into other roles with the company in ways their particular strengths dictate.

Primary responsibilities of this position include:

Telephone support for users of our practice management/medical records software package

Training clients on the initial set up and usage of the software (both on-site and remotely)

Providing general IT support for our own office's computer hardware, software, and network

Depending on your particular skill set, additional opportunities in this position may also include:

Testing new features to ensure that product updates are released bug-free

Maintenance and upgrades to our Windows Server-based application hosting environment

Developing custom solutions for clients as needed, such as SQL reports

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or 2-3 years experience in IT support

General technical aptitude in a Microsoft Windows environment (a demonstrated ability to learn will be more important than any specific technical skills)

Ability to quickly troubleshoot user problems and provide solutions on the fly

Strong communication skills, specifically in delivering technical information to a largely non-technical audience

Customer service mindset with a knack for seeing the user's side of things

Experience in the healthcare industryspecifically with regard to billing, insurance, and electronic medical recordsis a plus
