Senior Front-End Software Engineer Apex Systems is currently supporting the hiring process for a Senior Software Engineer for a local client based out of Chesapeake, VA. This is a permanent position and will be in the office.   • GraphQL and /or REST, SQL/Database

Day-to-Day
  • Plans, develops, and implements software programming applications from conception to completion
  • Completes nearly all development activities independently
  • Has advanced knowledge in software programming concepts, practices, and procedures and knows when and how to apply them to their work
  • Makes well-reasoned decisions about software design and implementation based on their knowledge of best practices in the field
  • Provides innovative solutions to complex problems. Stays up to date on the latest technologies. Adaptable to constant technical changes.
  • Develops solutions to improvise performance and scalability of systems
  • Regularly looks for areas to improve existing code base during day-to-day duties
  • Works to anticipating problems and prevent them from happening before they start. Recognizes software programming problems/issues, provides proposed solution to manager and implements solution.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to independently plan and accomplish goals with little to no supervision
  • Able to break down work into consumable tasks and identify how much work is required to complete the tasks
  • Leads by example in organization's software development processes and test strategies
  • Conducts code reviews in a timely manner and identifies discrepancies in logic pertaining to the task at hand
  • Documents supporting installation instructions and basic user operations and troubleshooting manuals
  • Supports system configuration along with supports application deployments inclusive of occasional after-hours assistance
