The Division is responsible for providing full lifecycle independent assessment, systems engineering and integration (SE&I), and mission assurance to Federal agencies and commercial sector customers across the space, aviation, and related sophisticated systems enterprise. The candidate selected for this position will be working in a team supporting customers and reaching back to other groups for additional technical support and expertise. The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for performing technical work and project engineering and management, e.g., interacting with the customer and coordinating with additional technical support.This is a hybrid position based at our Crystal City, VA location.What You'll Be Doing- Provide technical systems engineering, mission assurance, systems architecting, technology planning and assessments, enterprise-level assessment functions within the Federal Civil & Homeland Security Directorate.
- Perform system engineering and integration (SE&l) activities in support of customer efforts.
- Support studies and analysis in support of technical and organizational decision-making on programs and projects.
- Work includes the development, evaluation and execution of systems engineering and mission assurance processes and practices, enterprise-level and organizational effectiveness assessments, systems architecture studies, analysis of alternatives (AoA) studies, technology planning and evaluation, and technical and programmatic risk assessments.
- Work collaboratively with program development and program execution staff to demonstrate the Corporation's analytical capabilities in all relevant areas.
- lnteract directly with customers: Department of Homeland Security, Department of Transportation, along with cross cutting efforts that include the National Science Foundation, and other civil agencies.
- Participate in work execution and integrate technical analyses into high quality, unified final products.
- Support business development efforts.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering, science, physics, or other technical discipline.
- 12 years of progressively responsible technical experience
- Proven team leadership and program management experience.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of customers, contractors and technical staff
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and mature judgment
- Excellent verbal and written communications skill

- Demonstrated execution skills in a technical environment including formulating task plans, supporting effective studies, delegating within the program office and to the engineering and technology group is required.
- Demonstrated leadership, execution, analysis and product delivery capabilities, as evidenced through examples of recent integrated products are required. Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and team building skills are required.
- Ability to work in a self-motivated and directed manner with senior customer personnel on a variety of technical, programmatic, and administrative issues is required.
- Experience in the analysis of complex technical programmatic, and management environments is required.
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- 10 years experience in relevant Space Traffic Management, Space Control, Space Situational Awareness and/or Space Asset Protection technical subject areas
- Experience with electro-optical and/or RF sensing systems (e.g., telescopes, radars, etc.)
- Experience with Uncrewed Air Systems (UAS) and Counter Uncrewed Air Systems (CUAS).
- Experience with aircraft operating in National Air Space (NAS), Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), UAS Traffic Management (UTM)
- Experience performing or working with people performing machine learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), autonomy
- Experience with Operations Research (OR)
- Experience performing or working with people performing Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A).
- 12 years of systems engineering, system trades, requirements management, technology development, and system architecting experience.
- Broad knowledge and experience with the Aerospace Corporation's business.
- Knowledge of the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Transportation, National Science Foundation, and other civil agencies mission areas.
- Experience with technology maturation.
- Experience working within a matrixed technology organization.
- Advanced technical degree
