If so, this may be the role for you! We have an immediate need for an experienced Systems Engineer to serve as a cloud platforms and operations analyst for the organization. In this role, the Systems Engineer is responsible for the development and delivery of cloud platform and infrastructure migration solutions to support the organization. This position will be based in Dulles, VA. Key Responsibilities:
  • Play a critical role in the development and delivery of cloud migration efforts.
  • Provide Systems Engineering expertise as a cloud platforms engineer, to build, configure, and maintain infrastructure hosting in the cloud. This position is required to support both physical infrastructure hosting workloads and in the cloud.
This position can be filled at a level 2 or level 3. Basic Qualifications level 2:
  • Active Top Secret with SCI and Polygraph clearance
  • Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, System Engineering, Business or related discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Prior experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS), implementing services such as: AWS Command Line (AWSCLI), Amazon Machine Images (AMI), Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Simple Storage Service (S3), Elastic Block Storage (EBS), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), or CloudWatch.
  • Direct on-the-job experience with or excellent understanding of Engineering solutions in Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS), Software development programming languages (e.g Python, Java), Automated provisioning technologies or methods such as AWS CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Migration of Physical Infrastructure to cloud
Basic Qualifications level 3:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A diverse IT background, and strong hands-on technical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Linux platforms, infrastructure -as-code, cloud, and hypervisors.
  • Expected to quickly self-learn new technologies, work in a team environment, and provide tier 3 support.
  • The selected individual will be expected to have a thorough understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, and software development.
  • Hands-on technical experience
  • Solid understanding and experience with Linux platforms
  • Experience with DevOps concepts, cloud technologies, business applications, modern hypervisors
  • Experience working with and integrating open source frameworks and products
  • Deploying various open source packages and/or application stacks into the business' production landscape, multi-core, multi-threaded, and distributed systems
  • Quickly self-learn new technologies and tools
  • Committed to seeking technical breakthroughs and solving complex problems
  • Work autonomously or as part of an Agile Scrum team

Salary Range: $90,600 USD - $136,000 USD

Salary Range 2: $111,600 USD - $167,400 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
