ECS is seeking a data focused Applied Technology Analyst (ATA) to work in our Fairfax, VA office. This position is responsible for collaboratively supporting a project team which is responsible for managing an Artificial Intelligence initiative. This position is primarily responsible for supporting a DoD entity focusing on data collection and autonomous aircraft project which includes remotely sensed data, computer vision enabled features, very large datasets, and cloud solutions. Position Responsibilities:
  • Internal and external project and client reporting
  • Record formal meeting minutes and dissemination
  • Working with large datasets and performing data ETL, analysis and reporting
  • Requirements gathering and documentation, peer-reviewing deliverables
  • Daily operational support to technical and program leadership
  • Candidates must be able to use critical thinking to pinpoint key details and communicate effectively
  • Responsible for assisting the Project Technical Lead, technical teams, and partner agencies/companies with limited oversight.
Hybrid Work: Telework and Partial in-place work 1-2 days a week in the 2700 Prosperity Avenue, Merrifield, VA building Travel: 0-10% travel will be required, CONUS; local travel to data centers and other DC metro locations expected on a regular basis

Required Skills:
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must possess an Active Secret Clearance; ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance with SCI preferred
  • Current or pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Data Science, Math, Finance, Statistics, Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or an equivalent field.
  • A strong background in computer technology is necessary, including knowledge of data science, programming languages, and MS Office products.
  • 1-2 years of programming experience, preference for python
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally while demonstrating technical expertise (fluency in English is required)
  • Autonomous self-starter with a passion for analytics and problem solving
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas to and interact with customers, management, and peers with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in the customer space and managing competing priorities.

Desired Skills:
  • Top-Secret Clearance with SCI preferred
  • Experience with programming and/or scripting: Python, R, SQL
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience working with cloud technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, etc.)
  • Experience with data engineering, structure, formatting, conditioning, and analysis
  • Experience with database tools and current data science processes
  • An interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Experience with version control tools, such as GitHub and Git.
