The Navy's Enterprise Authoritative Data Environment (eADE) system team is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join their team.This is a remote teleworking opportunity.The Enterprise Authoritative Data Environment (eADE) program maintains Navy O&M and Research/Development/Test and Evaluation (RDTE) for Navy Personnel and Pay systems. The eADE team applies an authoritative data sharing framework supporting data analytics and business intelligence functions for Navy HR systems.This position is for a Linux Systems Administrator charged with operating system and application maintenance and configuration. This includes the and acquisition-to-maintenance intervals and upgrades, to end of life planning. Responsible for security and configuration compliance working with other members of the IT System Administration Team, vendor management, IT Asset Owners and other teams associated with the division. Respond to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT system assistance, data and information.Duties:
Install and administer virtual hardware, Linux operating systems and software applications including system fixes, updates and enhancements.
Implement proxy configuration and managing security groups and network access control lists.
Author Ansible playbooks and bash scripts to maintain standardized system configuration.
Manage computer and user accounts, privileges and system access.
Manage system resources by monitoring of performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recovery.
Perform troubleshooting, analysis of alerts and repairs on systems.
Ensure system availability, functionality, integrity and efficiency, and maintain system configuration and documentation.
Implement security procedures, CS assessment & authorization security controls in accordance with local and DOD procedures and requirements.
Author standardized SOPs as related to tasking in the environment.
Ownership and execution of incident management and system maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
2+ years of directly related experience to Linux systems administration and analysis .
Experience managing virtual networks and network devices including load balancers and firewalls.
Familiarity with dnf and yum upgrades and other automated functions.
Familiarity with Shell Scripting (e.g. Bash and Python) and Secure communication protocols (SSH, TLS)
Preferred: familiarity with AWS or other Virtual Environment platforms.
Security+
Top Secret clearance ; must be SCI eligible.
