Functional Team Lead - CGFM or CDFM Required

Position Description Join our team as a Functional Team Lead to serve as a financial management SME in leading the agency's financial data cleansing and conversion activities as it prepares to retire the existing legacy system and replace it with a modern, integrated financial ERP system. You will be part of a team that drives and delivers the financial management best practices and integrates the data cleansing and conversion preparation activities across multiple DHS components.

Your future duties and responsibilities As the Functional Team Lead, you will be one of the primary interfaces between the government Subject Matter Experts (SME) and the project team for developing work products and planning and tracking financial data cleansing and conversion activities. No people management is required. Translate functional characteristics of the data (e.g. data fields and accounting terms) into technical requirements. Develop the data quality measures, assessments and the techniques for long-term validation and reporting. Validate reconciliation issues in financial reports. Trace key data elements from general ledger to the sub-ledgers. Review existing core financial systems, business processes and interfacing systems for data reconciliation with the main general ledger.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required. 12 years of experience working in Federal government accounting. 5 years of experience in financial data analysis and data management. 5 years of experience in Federal government financial management data standards. 5 years of experience in federal financial business process analysis. Experience in reconciling financial data, cross walking data, reviewing trial balances, providing recommendations for remediation, resolving issues and using common ERP federal financial systems. Strong understanding of the USSGL and sub-ledger processes for federal agency business areas. Experience supporting full life-cycle federal financial ERP implementations and/or engagements involving financial systems support services. Either of the following certifications: Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC) Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM).

Desired Qualifications: Strong knowledge of and hands-on experience with common databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, etc.). Experience implementing data conversion processes and mock conversions in ERP Implementations in the Federal government. Experience in Oracle financial solutions. Experience working in DHS (i.e. ICE, FEMA, TSA, etc.).
