Basic Qualifications

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. As a hands-on Subject Matter Expert, we'll rely on you to participate as an active team member knowledgeable of the networking environment including routers, switches, circuits, firewalls, wireless, intrusion prevention devices, etc. You'll be a key contributor in supporting the GDMS network environment by implementing, supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting network issues on physical or virtual network infrastructure components while coordinating with team members and/or vendors. You'll also understand and maintain technical expertise of the interrelationships within the infrastructure environment with focus on the network environment and how it interacts and interfaces across the enterprise by providing detailed technical analysis in data network planning, engineering, and design.

You will be responsible for the administration of a diverse set of network equipment, including switches, routers, Taclanes, and firewalls. You'll serve as a front-line interface to users with technical issues, security staff to verify compliance, and developers to develop solutions to match program needs. Some of your duties include documenting, installing or updating software, troubleshooting, granting permissions for applications, and making sure appropriate connectivity is maintained. You will be responsible for ordering necessary hardware, support contracts, and necessary licensing. You will be responsible for all ConMon and compliance activities for equipment. You will be expected to apply and document STIGs, and support tenable scans and logging. Scripting & knowledge of Linux and Splunk is helpful.

What you bring to the table:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge and experience in multiple IT fields, applications and domains
  • Expert working knowledge of multiple network domains and the interconnections within the enterprise
  • Design, planning, implementation, monitoring, administering, and maintaining computer networks
  • Solid understanding of Palo Alto and Cisco operating systems
  • The desire to want to learn other network platforms such as Juniper, HP, Taclane, Linux, and Aruba
  • Infrastructure aspects of network related authentication, policy, scanning, logging, and storage
  • Knowledge of switching, routing, and firewall fundamentals
  • Enhanced troubleshooting skills within networking and storage technologies
  • Working knowledge to create and run scripts to automate repetitive processes
  • Understanding of Splunk architecture, capabilities, and maintenance.
  • Experience with ConMon and compliance activities for network equipment is required.

Target salary range: USD $142,300.00/Yr. - USD $154,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
