Responsibilities

Perspecta is seeking to fill a critical role for a Network Administratorfor our Fort Belvoir, Virginiaoffice.

  • The Network Engineer Technical Specialist is responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and maintaining network systems and services to support mission requirements.
  • Provides ongoing network technical support to addresses availability issues and overcomes network performance problems and issues.
  • Provides technical analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and network tools and applications on-premise and in cloud environments.
  • Monitor network hardware operations to ensure proper configuration settings and security controls options.
  • Reports on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution.
  • Maintains and updates system security plans on network systems.
  • Implements and coordinates on network policies, procedures and security standards.
  • Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
  • Design, implement and maintain network services.
  • Monitor, Troubleshoot and resolve, and report network performance problems and issues.
  • Ensure availability and operability of hardware to support missions.
  • Set up network security and apply network security protocol and controls; maintain Security Template Implementation Guidelines (STIG) compliance as required.
  • Perform network configuration management and provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Maintains technical proficiency in areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • 8+ years' experience in conducting analysis and open source research supporting DoD or IC customer
  • Demonstrated experience working as a network engineer designing, building and managing secure complex networks
  • Demonstrated experience working with teams to establish and maintain system configurations, install network hardware and software, and apply system and security standards.
  • Demonstrated experience demonstrated networking engineering, deployment and administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with on-premise and cloud networks

Desired:
  • Experienced in Agile Software Development Lifecycle to include any of the following Certifications:CASP+, CCNP, CISA, CISSP GCED.
