Responsibilities

The Network System Administrator is responsible for providing software support to ensure network is compliant and operational. Designs, installs, maintains and coordinates the use of network patches, STIGs and other necessary actions. Evaluates hardware, software and peripheral equipment for large, complex networks. Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the hardware and the overall network. Reports on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution. Trains users, maintains, creates and deletes user accounts. Maintains and updates system security plans on all platforms. Implements and coordinates network policies, procedures and standards. Enforces network security procedures.

Specific Responsibilities include:
  • Performing protocol and input fuzzing in order to find vulnerabilities in external software.
  • Performing analysis of disassembled code when source code is unavailable.
  • Develops and debugs software applications; designs and develops compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Conducts penetration testing of internally created software.
  • Develops and modifies software solutions for operational compatibility.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • At least Eight years' experience in conducting support to a DoD or IC customer, Plus;
  • Demonstrated experience conducting research in design, development, testing and utilization of electronic data processing software. Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solution
  • Demonstrated experience conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing and modifying software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Demonstrated experience in operations security support to mobile training teams
  • Active certification as a DoD Information Assurance Technician (8570) Level 1, II or III.
  • Desired Qualifications:
    • Experienced in Agile Software Development Lifecycle
    • Eight years' experience in conducting analysis and open source research supporting DoD or IC customer with at least a portion of the experience within the last two years.
    • Ten or more year's active duty military, civilian or contractor performance working in Network Support activities.
    • Active certification as a DoD Information Assurance Technician (8570) Level II or III.
