The Senior Software Application Developer will provide leadership and vision for the planning of web strategy and operational activities of the website(s) with specific attention toward content governance, web systems maintenance, and life-cycle deliverables. Specifically, this person will lead the investigation, assessment, and implementation of technical solutions for web-based business applications, database-driven business applications with integrated SQL and Oracle SQL. Initially, their primary responsibility will be transitioning many applications from Perl into newer technologies.
Required Skills & Experience:- Transitioning web-based applications from Perl into newer technologies
- Developing in an enterprise environment where multiple applications share a core code base and enterprise database
- Programming, deploying and managing enterprise software in a server environment using the following-languages and platforms: Perl, JavaScript, XML, Apache web server, Tomcat server
- Developing web-based applications built with extensive use of JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
- Using a compiler for code-to-program creation
- Using various techniques, frameworks, libraries such as AJAX, UNIX text stream search, Java Hibernate framework, Java Spring framework, JQuery
- Using modification utilities such as sed, awk, grep, UNIX shell programming and shell commands
- Utilization of NetBeans or other Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
