UMFS is seeking a Community Based Services supervisor for our Fredericksburg office to provide leadership and supervision to staff in delivering quality services to children and families consistent with UMFS practice principles and strengths-based philosophy, licensing standards, and professional ethics.

MSW or related master's required, plus case management experience with kids and families required; 2 years of supervisory experience. May hold up to a half caseload, depending on census and staff needs. On-call rotation required. UMFS offers a comprehensive compensation package, including an excellent 401(K) match, health/dental insurance, generous paid leave, and a starting salary range of $47K - $55K.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide program and team leadership that will maintain and guide a quality service program consistent with the philosophy of UMFS, licensing standards, COA standards, HIPPA and professional ethics.

Provide case coverage (up to half a caseload) depending on census and back-up on an as needed basis to cover vacation, illness, trainings, etc. of staff.

Evaluate intake referrals for appropriateness, formulate assessment needs and community resources, and assign appropriate staff. Provide oversight of comprehensive treatment plans and provide guidance and direction to staff implementing plan by monitoring client’s progress to ensure current services and treatment interventions promote social and behavioral success and prevent home disruption.

Monitor staff’s documentation in accordance with Agency policy/procedures, Medicaid, licensure and COA; ensure compliance with all privacy/confidentiality laws and regulations; ensure timely responsiveness to Agency Utilization Review as well as other pertinent regulatory/accrediting bodies. Prepare for and facilitate external reviews and audits as appropriate.

Provide programmatic and clinical expertise to assist staff with required documentation. Monitor and approve home studies, treatment plans and/or other program-specific documentation.

Provide individual supervision to all assigned staff weekly to address clinical strategies to meet client goals, review documentation, and provide clinical supervision.

Maintain and cultivate positive relationships with various agencies including other UMFS programs/services whose support is necessary for the growth and development of UMFS in order to meet the needs of families and youth.

In coordination with Agency’s Human Resources and Organizational Learning departments, responsible for interviewing, training, supervising, and disciplining staff in adherence to state and federal regulations and accrediting agencies as well as Agency policies and procedures.

Engage in positive, responsive, and effective performance management practices for staff, and/or interns. Direct the performance management of all staff to ensure timely supervision, evaluations and employee development.

Ensure prompt and appropriate attention to crisis management issues; effectively managing client or referral source issues or complaints by providing “customer delight”.

Assist in monitoring and providing sound fiscal management of program area(s) budget and census development.

Establish and maintain a variety of recordkeeping and documentation processes and systems in compliance with licensure, Medicaid, and COA; ensure all relevant confidentiality and privacy requirements are met. Prepare and complete a variety of reports, forms, and presentations as assigned. Plans and prepares for audits and re-certifications.

Keep informed of current research and practice in field and undertakes self-development/improvement activities.

Participate in on-call responsibilities.

Participate on various committees inside and outside of agency including a QI team and/or project.

Provide leadership, encouragement, and motivation to staff to function at a high level of work performance and exhibit quality work behaviors.

Responsible for training staff on agency’s Gazelles model the creation, execution and accomplishment of assigned employee’s Annual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meet center’s key initiatives.

Must have the ability to effectively use a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint). Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook and utilize program specific technologies such as Harmony.

Responsible for accomplishing 2-3 measureable annual Individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing concrete data to illustrate progress on 90-day Individual Priorities, and participating in Team Huddles.

Monitor the revenue and expenditures of the program by completing and/or reviewing billing reports, timesheets, and expense reports.

Responsible for marketing the UMFS Network of Services and providing customer delight, as defined by agency policy, to all internal and external customers.

Assist with the development and implementation of supplemental programs related to services assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervise 5 to 7 employees in the assigned program area(s). Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; fostering trust and building strong teams, developing skills and encouraging growth; acknowledging contributions and addressing performance issues.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master's degree in social work or related degree with direct practice experience; a minimum of four years casework experience and two years of supervisory, LCSW or LPC preferred. Demonstrated ability to plan, direct and coordinate the activities of program services and manage staff. Demonstrated knowledge of different treatment modalities and the implications they hold for services to families and youth.
