Job Description
Lee Highway Nursery is a full service Nursery, Garden Center and Landscaping company located in Warrenton, Virginia. We are seeking a full time Sales Associate for our Nursery/Garden Center.
Must be a hardworking, dependable horticulture professional with exceptional salesmanship.
Prior experience with skid loader and delivery truck operation are a plus.
Must be available to work weekends.
General Responsibilities
Answering of garden center phones
Actively selling and promoting garden center and nursery stock items to walk in customers
Ability to answer customer horticultural questions and guide to proper items
Be under general direction of garden center manager
Loading, lifting, and un-loading of trees, shrubs, flowers, and crates ability to lift min. 50lbs.
Maintaining plant materials via pruning, watering, and cleaning flower displays
Ability to complete sales via Computer POS cash register system
A general knowledge of plants, fertilizers, soil amendments, and pesticides a plus but not required
Ability to load/ un-load materials with a bob-cat wheel loader a plus
Education, training, experience:
Equivalent industry experience preferred but not required.
Good plant background knowledge required
Industry related retail management experience required.
Basic computer skills including MS office, quickbooks, quickbooks POS, and credit card system
Valid Driver License
Ability to work extended hours during busy season
Ability to operate skid steer loader and small dump truck.
Great attitude, customer service skills, organized and a multi-tasker

Nursery, greenhouse, garden center experience: 1 year
Required education:
High school or equivalent
Salary will be negotiable with experience and qualifications.
