Family owned and operated trucking company is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic who will keep up our level of commitment to safety. In this role, the employee will perform truck/trailer repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards, run diagnostics on vehicles and work closely with other team members to meet company goals. REQUIRED SKILLS
Performs inspection, maintenance and repairs on heavy duty vehicles; trucks, trailers, etc.
Responsible for diesel engines and transmissions.
Responsible for brake systems, electrical trouble shooting, steering and cooling systems.
Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes.
Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs.
Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks.
Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.
Ensures services provided are in compliance with safety procedures.
Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
Keep our drivers happy and safe.
Be focused on the job from start to finish.
Reports to a Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED
Technical or Diesel certification a plus
Must possess a valid driver’s license; CDL a plus
Be organized and keep a clean work environment
ASE Diesel Certification an asset
Monday – Friday; Alternating Saturdays
Must have own tools
Welding a plus
