At this time, Dominion Energy cannot transfer nor sponsor a work visa for this position.Job Summary Job Summary As a Maintenance Operator Trainee, you will be required to operate and maintain power station equipment. This includes: 1) Inspecting, operating and monitoring equipment used in the production of electricity; 2) Performing daily routine operations; 3) Isolating/tagging equipment for maintenance; 4) Valve operations; 5) Making entries into computer-based logbooks; 6) Performing maintenance on major industrial equipment such as pumps, turbines, and power station mechanical equipment; 7) Performing maintenance on batteries, motors, switchgear, motor operated valves, and other power station electrical equipment. You will be placed in a 56-month standardized skills development program. The starting pay rate is $22.69 per hour. Day shifts and rotating 12-hour shifts will be available. Successful candidates must be available to travel and train in Richmond, Virginia for up to nine (9) week periods of time. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience Minimum of 3 + years experience in operating and maintaining major industrial equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, turbines and electrical switchgear in an industrial environment (e.g. shipyard, military, manufacturing, or power station)Strongly preferred: 1) Journeyman craftsman experience; and/or 2) Candidates who have power plant/power generation operational or maintenance experience.Education Requirements Education Required: Preferred: Candidates with Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.Required: High School diploma or GEDLicenses, Certifications, or Quals Description Working Conditions Cold 51-75%Dust / Grease / Oil 26-50%Energized Wires 51-75%Fumes 26-50%Heat 51-75%Loud Noise 26-50%Operating Machinery 26-50%Outdoors 51-75%Pressurized Lines & Valves 26-50%Other Working Conditions Working Conditions: This position requires good physical ability and agility. The job requires an incumbent, 75% of the time, to stand, sit, walk, carry, bend, crawl, reach, squat, and climb to include: ladders, poles, and stairs. Requires ability to push/pull with arms, legs, and body. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The job requires an incumbent, 75% of the time, to be exposed to conditions such as: heat, cold, outdoors, operating machinery, loud noises, dust, grease, oil, and fumes.
