Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

• Minimum four-year accredited engineering degree, preferably in nuclear engineering, or other four-year accredited engineering degree with emphasis in nuclear engineering or engineering physics. M.S. degree preferred. • Minimum 3 years experience in nuclear engineering, station engineering, or nuclear plant operations for Engineer II. • Minimum 5 years experience in nuclear engineering, station engineering, or nuclear plant operations for Engineer III. • Knowledge of fundamental nuclear, mechanical, and electrical theory and engineering principles. • Knowledge of fundamental theory, design, systems, structures, components, and operation of pressurized water reactors. • Knowledge and experience with nuclear application codes, especially those used to perform detailed reactor core analysis, reactor coolant system transient analysis, and PWR containment systems analysis (e.g., RETRAN, RELAP, GOTHIC, VIPRE). • Knowledge and experience with radiological consequences analyses and codes (e.g., RADTRAD, ORIGEN). • Knowledge of nuclear regulations and regulatory processes and specific experience with 10 CFR 50.59 screens and evaluations and use of industry guidance documents. • Ability to effectively operate a personal computer and workstation computer, including standard Microsoft applications and Linux. Programming skills are desirable. • Ability to define problems, collect information, evaluate data, draw valid conclusions, and develop solutions in a time-critical environment. • A demonstrated professional orientation, and an ability to lead, communicate effectively in both written and oral forms, and work effectively in teams and independently under own initiative. • Strong communication, teamwork, analytical, and project management skills are essential for success in this position.
