Rockydale Quarries Corporation, an established aggregate producer in Virginia, is seeking to hire a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Staunton location.
The successful candidate needs to be an energetic, dependable, and self-motivated person, who can work safely in a busy quarry atmosphere. Must have experience maintaining off-road construction equipment, as well as on-road equipment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, excavators, loaders, haul trucks, dozers and delivery trucks.
Duties required are examination of equipment, diagnosing, repairing and replacing parts, performing routine preventative maintenance, maintaining a mobile equipment shop, including tools and supplies organization. This position will be responsible for managing parts inventory, including ordering parts from a variety of vendors. Some travel will be required and must be willing to work an alternate schedule, either temporarily or permanently, as quarry needs arise. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Previous experience in a related field is required. Diesel school diploma/certificate may be considered in place of experience.
